Red boxes against COVID-19
Together against the Coronavirus - this was the motto of last week's fifth Making More Health donation campaign at the campus Ingelheim. The global pandemic is a major challenge for each of us. But especially our Making More Health (MMH) areas in India and Kenya need our support at this time - many people have lost their jobs as a result of the lockdown. They are no longer able to care for themselves and their families. Besides, there is a shortage of simple hygiene products, masks, and food.
We invited our Boehringer Ingelheim colleagues to donate for the benefit of our communities in India and Kenya. For the donations they made they could also receive the red transport boxes as a “thank you”.
The boxes come from the medical production of Boehringer Ingelheim and are used for the transport of medicines. The idea of reusing the boxes came from our colleague Dr. Stefan Herrmann:
"Many of our colleagues have asked me whether these boxes, once used, could not also be used for private purposes. Together with other colleagues and Making More Health, we came up with the idea to reuse these boxes in a sustainable way, while also creating a benefit for people in need. So we launched this donation campaign.”
The campaign was a complete success. Despite the holiday season and more than 30 degrees, around 700 boxes could be sold, and we were able to collect more than 3000 EUR.
A big thanks to our colleagues for their exceptional commitment in these times of crisis. Stay tuned for our next donation campaigns.
